Normally I will write something about my photo shoot...but for today's I'm taking what my sister wrote about her dog:
"On
a clear September evening in 2003, I drove to Katy to adopt a Golden
Retriever. He was already a year and a half to two years old & I was
five days from turning 24. It was love at first sight and I called him
Samson. My dad said he was NOT staying in the house but that didn't
last long since Sam soon won him over & my dad marveled at what a
good dog he was & how well he did with kids. In January of this
year, he suffered several seizures & his health began to decline. He
was not in pain but it became increasingly difficult for him to walk.
Eventually he was unable to stand and could barely sit up. Today I had
to tell him goodbye. I will miss the stray hairs that became a
wardrobe staple and that I inevitably found in my car. I will miss his
gentle snoring beside my bed, as well as his adoring gaze and wagging
tail anytime he saw me. I have loved every bit of the 9 years, 6 months & 25 days that he was part of my life."
